Purpose: The purpose of this article is to consider the current problem of identifying the competitiveness of construction organizations, where the focus is on rating assessment as a tool for determining the competitiveness of organizations, as well as to develop directions for using ratings at different levels of management (at the level of the state, customer, investors, financial institutions and the construction organization itself). Design/methodology/approach: The authors use the methods of comparative analysis of various rating systems in construction to develop potential directions for the use of ratings in the national construction market. The objects of the study are the countries of the European Union, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan. Findings: It is confirmed that in the context of the rapid transformation of the competitive environment and the digitalization of the construction industry, the assessment of the competitiveness rating of construction firms is becoming an increasingly key tool for comparative analysis and assessment of their work, reducing the risk of non-performance of construction contracts, improving the quality of construction products, and the management of the rating by construction organizations is becoming a necessity for their survival and development in the construction market. Originality/value: A conceptual approach to the functioning of the system of rating assessment of competitiveness of construction organizations for the construction complex of the Republic of Belarus has been developed, as well as practical recommendations on the application of the rating of competitiveness of construction organizations, which are differentiated by the level of management (at the level of the state, customer, contractor and credit institutions, investors). The practical recommendations provide for the use of the rating in assessing the risks of non-performance of contractual obligations, determining the minimum requirements for construction organizations depending on the complexity class of the construction object and the cost of construction of this object, as well as setting conditions on the form and size of tender security, ensuring the performance of contractual and guarantee obligations.
