(Purpose): The purpose of the study is to identify the characteristics of the structure formation of gypsum binder and obtain a highly effective composite gypsum binder with high physical, technical and operational properties using the polycarboxylate superplasticizer POLIMIX. (Design/methodology/approach): The research used modern methods of physical and chemical analysis, standard methods for studying quality indicators of gypsum binder, mathematical methods and statistical methods for processing research results. (Findings): The mechanism of influence of the polycarboxylate superplasticizer on the processes of structure formation of the gypsum binder has been identified; it was found that a superplasticizer based on polycarboxylate ether helps to enhance the hydration process of the gypsum binder due to the excitation of active surface centers; mathematical models of the compressive strengthand softening coefficient of a composite gypsum binder with a polycarboxylate superplasticizer were obtained. (Originality/value): Research is based on experimental data obtained using modern testing and research methods (electrophysical method for studying the hardening process, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray phase analysis, mercury porosimetry), convergence and consistency of experimental results with theoretical principles and data from other researchers, successful testing of the results obtained in production conditions.
